Well, not much to report except for the fact that DADDY GOT A PROMOTION (yeah Daddy - we're so proud of you) :) Oh that and the fact that Kai brought home the Flu from school (welcome to the world of germs huh). It started with Kai then Kohlston and on to Daddy, Mamaw Barbara, Gg Lynne, GrampZ and last but not least Mommy. Keeping our fingers crossed it has all passed now :) Here are a few shots of us. First is of Kai going through all of her Princess books and trying to decide what to read before bedtime (of course she wants ALL of them - lol).

I had my first successful trip to the grocery with Kohlston since my back went out (Kai was at school). All went well except Kohlston was wondering WHY Mommy put him in a "PINK floppy seat cover" - Hah! He still had the ladies staring at him saying how adorable he was :)

We headed to Gainesville last weekend to visit with family. GrampZ hadn't seen us since Thanksgiving if you can believe that. It was a great time as always :)

Little Man!

Updates on little man: he's crawling, sitting, standing and soon to be walking. He says Dada, has 8 teeth and a mean death grip! He's eating cheerios, puffs, lil' crunchies, wagon wheels, stage 2 food and just shy of 8 months old!

Kai's 1st Award!

We're so proud of our little Kailey girl! During her 2nd day of school she received her first Citizenship Award for helping her friend put her hat back on while playing outside. Great job Keeks - keep up the good work babe!

My first day of school!

This morning we dropped our little girl off for her very first day of school! We explained how the day would go (since kids don't have a perception of time) so she understood when Mommy & Daddy would be back to pick her up (after nap). She handled it really well. We walked in and Kai said hello to all of the ladies up front. Once we got to her classroom we put her jacket and backpack up on her hook. Kai set off to play with the other kids without a worry in the world. She turned around and said "bye"! We're anxious to call later and check in on you :)

Dragonfly Kai!

We have some really exciting news! Kai starts her first day of preschool tomorrow. We lucked out and landed a spot at a really great Genesis school called Longleaf Learning Center. Starting with two days a week Kai will be in the Dragonfly Room. We're told it's pretty hard to get in so needless to say we feel blessed. Here are a few pictures of us headed out the door for a little tour of LLC a few days ago. This picture of Kai cracks me up! Check out her facial expression :) She's just a ham and will do great in school. Wish us luck :)

Cousin Nik!

Last week my cousin Nikolas came over to hang for the day! We helped Daddy with yard work, colored with sidewalk chalk on the driveway and played with my toys. We took turns hiding toys from Kohlston too. Mommy keeps telling me that one day soon he will be bigger than I am - oh I better watch out :)

Gram Audrey!

Last week Gigi Terry took us to visit with Mamaw Audrey! She moved into a new home and seems to be adjusting very well. We danced to some entertainment and had a really nice time. When Kai walked in she made a comment that she saw 'Mommy's wheelchair & walker' - gotta laugh :)

Healing Mass with Gram!

Last night Mommy and I went to a Healing Mass with Mamaw Dorthy. Mommy and Mamaw were really impressed with how well I behaved. I saw patiently (which is pretty hard for me - hah) and listened to Pastor Curt talk. My favorite part was when we went up to the alter and he said a special prayer for Mommy's back. During the prayer we placed our hands on her back to help give her a speedy recovery. Thanks Mamaw for inviting us to come with you!

Mamaw - thank you so very much for all of your help during this difficult time. We're not quite sure what we would do without you! You have no idea how much you're loved and appreciated and we feel so blessed to have you in our lives :)

It's been a wild ride here in the Katz household! Quick update on my back injury: It's been a month since I severely herniated my L5 disk in my lower back. We're still not sure how this happened but we're told it's common in young Mom's. I have my last steroid epidural injection tomorrow in hopes that this one will allow me to walk (all prayers are greatly appreciated). I've been sleeping in a hospital bed which allows me to get out of bed easier and spend my days in a wheelchair with some use of a walker. We want to say a special thanks to our family and friends who have helped us with Kai & Kohlston as well as those who have dropped off delicious meals. Update on Kai & Kohlston: Kai is as busy as ever and ready for preschool. We hope to start with 2 days a week and see how that goes (once we fix my situation). Kohlston is 7 months old with 6 teeth. He's still a laid back little guy with a wonderful disposition. He started crawling a few weeks ago! Oh - his blonde hair sticks straight up - it's so cute (see below). I haven't been as camera happy as usual but we're slowly getting back into the swing of things.

Hi Family & Friends,
As you can see we haven't updated our blog since last year. There is a good excuse that's forsure! On Christmas Day Mommy awoke with back pain. To make a very long story short after going to the ER 2 days later she learned that she herniated a disk in her lower back. The Doctor gave strict orders for bedrest. Going on 15 days and counting. Please keep our Mommy in your thoughts and prayers.
We will post pictures once she is well and walking again.
